Donald L. "Pop" Moore, Sr., 77 of Powhatan, died August 6, 2009. He is survived by his wife, Jeanette C. Moore; son, Donald L. Moore Jr. (Lynn); daughters, Donna Gale Barden and Jeaneen Polevoy (Steve), all of Powhatan; two brothers. Bobby Moore of Powhatan, and Wayne Moore of Amelia; sister, Joan Cosby of Powhatan; four grandchildren, Trey Moore, Thomas Barden, Phillip and Joey Polevoy; four stepchildren, Mark, Thomas, Daniel, Stacey; three step-grandchildren and many devoted friends.
The family received friends Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Bennett & Barden Funeral Home, 3215 Anderson Hwy. (Rt. 60), Powhatan. Funeral services were held Monday, 3 p.m. in Graceland Baptist Church. Interment church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Powhatan Rescue Squad or the Powhatan Volunteer Fire Department, Company I.
