Melvin C. Moore, 71, a lifetime resident and businessman of Powhatan County, left the loving arms of his family on Monday, June 25, 2007. He is survived by his wife, Evelyn H. Moore; his daughter, Janice M. Moore; his grandson and wife, Jason and Katherine Moore; his grandson, Christopher C. Moore, all of Powhatan; his beloved granddaughter, Katherine Michelle Moore and her significant other, Christopher Perry, of King William; mother Ruth Moore; sister Maxine Rose; brother, Kenneth Moore, all ofPowhatan; also, his niece, Annette Branch, and Nephew, Gary Wayne Moore, both of Powhatan, who held a special place in his heart. He was predeceased by his father, Jessie N. Moore. The family will receive friends Wednesday (tonight) from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Bennett & Barden Funeral Home, 3215 Anderson Hwy (Rte 60), Powhatan, and where funeral services will be held Thursday, 11 a.m. Interment Graceland Baptist Church Cemetery, Powhatan. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Powhatan Volunteer Rescue Squad,whose members have been of so much assistance over the past.
